Welcome to the website for Society of Physics Students at Texas Tech! Here you can learn about our amazing outreach, social, and academic events. 

 

Our purpose is the advancement and diffusion of knowledge of physics, the encouragement of interest in physics throughout the academic and local communities, and the introduction of students to the professional community.

Glad you're interested! If you would like to become a member of the Society of Physics Students, email dahanes@ttu.edu in order to start the membership process!

  • How do I join?
    In order to join the Society of Physics Students at Texas Tech University, email dahanes@ttu.edu to get your membership process started.
  • How can I sign up for an event?
    In order to sign up to attend an event, you must attend the general meetings. At the general meetings, a link will be provided for you to choose which events you are interested in helping with or attending.
  • How do I become an officer?
    Nominations & elections will be held every spring semester for every officer position. Some positions have certain requirements you need to fulfill first in order to be eligible: for example, to run for President, you must have previously held another officer position for at least a year.
  • Is there a membership fee?
    The Society of Physics Students does not presently take dues. Some events may require you to pay for entry, and some trips may require a small fee to help cover gas.
